This special edition of Broccoli is a slightly amped up version of our original but with the Cascade hops swapped out for Citra. Brewed with 2-row, oats, and wheat and hopped with Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe, and Blanc.

We were at Toronado for Pliny the Younger (no line!). After two of those I wanted to try some of the many other great beers on their menu. David, the proprietor recommended this. We were pretty buzzed by this point so I don't recall specific details about the beer other than that it was good.

The very definition of a hazy from a brewery known for them in an unappealing 16 oz. can covered with…broccoli. I hate broccoli. It’s not food. It’s a weed.
The pour after a good can roll is thick, hazy, yellow top to bottom. Nose is pure tropical fruit sprinkled liberally with cane sugar.
Broccoli Special Reserve might be the worst beer name ever. Disappointed there’s no veggies in here. Tasty if uninspiring beverage: tons of indistinct tropical fruits (though there’s an unusual touch of lime), heavy sweetness, & a graininess that roughens the tongue. A little booze & no balancing bitterness, which would be very welcome. Very easy to sip which is its clear strength.
A rather standard hazy that’s lovely easy to drink; any modicum of bitterness would have vaulted this into another level. As is a good, solid beer.

Hazy golden with a good staying white head, another beauty from these guys. Potent tropical yet resinous nose. Interesting almost overripe fruity soft with not much bitterness on the end. Taste translates from the nose on this beer with yet a soft almost crisp finish. Super easy to drink and not as thick or carbonated as I thought it would be. I like a sweeter IPA and this one hits most of the marks.

Thick hazy yellow body with a white head. Grapefruit, mango, nectarine, papaya, and pineapple nose with light piney hops. Taste adds some cantaloupe and lime, grapefruit clear star though overall, again hops light and piney but have a touch of dankness now too. Feel is juicy, smooth in the haziness, bright and has a decent hop bite in the finish, certainly more than it smells and tastes like. No weaknesses, great all around, though it could have more hop definition to reach the top tiers

Pours a turbid, murky, juicy pale orange color. There was a 1 finger white head. Head retention is decent. A nice ring of foam lingers on the edge of the glass.
The nose is as it should be for this style - very citrusy. Full of pineapple. It is backed up with grapefruit, and orange aromas.
Taste - Pineapple, grapefruit, orange, and maybe a hint of lemon on the flavor. Very juicy.
This is so soft feeling. Creamy, velvety.
A solid beer in this style, and another winner from Other Half.
