Picked this beer up at Other Half a while ago as the date on the bottom of the can read 12/14/18. Nothing was written below that as this was the first of it's iteration that I was able to get my hands on. Daydream was an appropriate word for this as this beer was soft and pillowy as the hops used in it ensured that this would have enough depth and taste to keep this from being a cliche!
This had a lively and muted golden hue to it with plenty of light seeping in around it. The head was appropriate as the lacing left behind was quite extensive and layered, started with the thick ring near the top of my pint glass. Lots of orange, tangerine, crystalline sugar, and sweet cream along the lines of sherbet were found in the mildly understated nose with the taste containing all of these to a proportionally wonderful extent. The dank and weedy aspects of the Galaxy emerged once this fully warmed up but thankfully, the fruit and sweet-leaning nature of this beer won out over that.
The amount of booze in this was spot-on as it didn't enhance or detract from everything else that was going on here. A nice amount of sweetness kept the harsher aspects from dominating but they were still here in the end, as this wasn't a completely soft daydream. This almost felt like a dessert beer but in the end, this had a more experimental nature that worked out for me. Would love to give the other iterations of this a go!
