Brewed with our Peach State homies, Creature Comforts, this beer is about respect and friendships and helps kick off a new beer series they’re working on. This beer is made with a simple pils and oats base and then gets a diversity of hops: Simcoe, El Dorado, Mosaic, Motueka, Citra, Cashmere, Vic Secret, Idaho 7 and Galaxy.

Yet again, this was a beer that I picked up at Other Half that I took around to get to. It ended up getting skipped over as I worked my way through my stash but it was worth the wait as I finally got around to it tonight. Canned on 1/8/19 with "AFTER WINTER MUST COME SPRING" written underneath that, this was a beer with a solid base that had one too many hops in the mix but somehow, ended up working out in the end!

Not a bad pour to this as the liquid was peach, muted, and somewhat bright although not quite uniform in hue. Enough head topped this off the lacing left behind was in the form a few thick rings near the top of my pint glass. So much going on in the nose although the oats, cream, wheat, citrus, funk, and earthiness all *seemed* to cancel each other out as the taste was just as deep and varied as the aroma led me to believe. Potato starch, deep floral notes, tropical fruit juice, and nectarine stickiness could all be felt on the palate as each of the hops involved in this beer's concoction shone through at some point during my session. That's not to say that it was a plus, as too many cooks ended up spoiling the proverbial broth that ended up on my tongue.

Thankfully, the amount of alcohol in this was not a killer but it could have been toned down a notch or two, given everything else that was going on here. No, this wasn't a bad beer as it was solid across the board but it came across like an all-star special that had to get everyone in at the expense of the final product. The pils and oats were enough to level this out and smooth out the rough edges although it was fun to imagine what could have been had all the hops been allowed to fully shine through. Indeed, this beer was everything, to a clustered extent...

Poured into a snifter.

Look: a very hazy golden-yellow color with a thick and rocky white head. The foam persisted for the entire drink.
Aroma: loads of tropical fruit, oranges, tangerines, berries, and resin.
Taste: my palate was first hit with a sweet citrus blast, which melted into more tropical notes. The mid and late palate featured berries and resin. The sweetness was likely from the high ABV and played well with the hops. A dry bready malt presence.
Feel: pillowy and as soft as any big NE DIPA I've tasted. There was a warming on the finish reminding me of the double-digits ABV but this was not boozy.
Overall: outstanding as expected. A great example of a world class big NEDIPA.

Thanks again to John for this one!

L - 1.5 finger dense white head atop an opaque orange body.

S - grapefruit, orange candy.

T - semi-sweet orange candy, grapefruit, dirt. Moderate bitterness. Low sweetness. Low booziness.

F - medium-full body with average carb.

O - booze is completely hidden. Quite great.

Maybe it's something about how understated Other Half's cans are, but they have a tendency to surprise and impress me at the same time. This can sticks with that theme - I'm amazed by how creamy this beer is. It's not a citrus bomb, but it's tremendously creamy with nice orange notes that slowly emerge over time. I like that. The vanilla nose and taste don't make this an orange dreamsicle, but it's similarly delicious - and I appreciate that the taste notes are distinct and not muddled.

I can't even tell that this is 10% ABV. This fella's dangerous.

Haze haze for days.

Full of soft fruits.

I did not want this experience to end.

Pours cloudy and juicy with a minimal head and minimal lacing which is a surprise considering the alcohol.
Smells dank and bitter. Heavy floral, papaya hop profile due to the extended mix of hops.
Feel is unbelievable. I can crush this beer at 10%. This is textbook other half but frankly even better than usual.
Great brew. Fav release from OH in a min.
