Picked this up at Other Half when it released, finally getting around to it on this windy night. Most of Other Half's Stouts that I've had lately were quite impressive and even though that wasn't quite the case with this one, this was a very impressive and enjoyable beer that was worth the price and the effort to lug it back home through the subway and onto the bus here to Jersey. After having a few sips of this, I know that the end result was well worth the effort!
This had a good pour to it with a dark, chocolatey hue, foamy tan head, and silky consistency to it. Enough lacing was left behind as I worked my way through this but nothing in particular stood out to me in terms of this beer's appearance. Lots of cinnamon, chocolate, and a hint of pepper could be found here as this reminded me a bit of the Stone Xocoveza without being as hot or spicy. The taste was much slicker than I was led to believe, is it felt like a block of cheese more than anything else. The oils and creaminess of it complemented the chocolate quite nicely as this felt like something that I'd want to have after dinner with Wisconsin's finest, slice by slice.
No doubt that this was potent stuff but it felt so smooth, milky, and nicely crafted that it was nearly impossible to detect that. The spice from the cinnamon and cayenne pepper was enough to perfectly offset the smooth, creamy aspect of this beer, resulting in an American Imperial Stout that was not like anything I ever had before. Once again, Other Half hit it out of the park with this one and all of us imbibers are better off for it. Please, brew more iterations in this series!

Mid sized bottle, direct from the source a week or two ago.
Very dark pour, dark mocha cap., leaving a load of fine blobs and bars of lacing left on the glass.
Cinnamon all over the nose, with some milk chocolate.
Thick and viscous in the mouth and as its flows over the tongue. More cinnamon all over the palate of this one, cayenne pepper, redhots, and more chocolate all coming to mind...complex, tasty , spicy, yes, delicious and heady stuff. 13.5% providing some of the warmth. World class and well worth seeking out.
