Pours black w/small head. Smells like coconut, and syrup - almost like a starbucks frap in a bottle. Some coconut and nut taste as well, but not overwhelming.

On tap at Other Half Rochester in Bloomfield, NY.
This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells like sweet candied coconut, powdered sugar, macadamia, Hershey's syrup, caramel, and some sort of sugary Frappucino type drink.
This is very tasty, but it's also almost too sweet. It's quite syrupy and candied tasting, with the base almost being caramelly, with lots of sweet melted chocolate flavors, too. The coconut and the nuts try to balance out the sweetness in vain. It's basically a sugary (but delicious) coffee drink filled with flavored creamer.
This is thick and syrupy, but not as drinkable as some of the other OH stouts. It's not boozy at all, though.
This is solid enough, but it's definitely too pastry. I want something to balance the sweetness here.

Bought this at the brewery as I've had quite a few of Other Half's bottle releases as of late. Although this was quite enjoyable, it fell just a bit short of my expectations and the *extremely* lofty bar that Other Half has set as of late. This was certainly not a bad beer and as usual, hid the alcohol quite nicely but in the end, it was just a bit too plain to fully stand out to me!
This had a good pour to it as the liquid was chocolatey brown with a sufficient mocha head to top it off. Most of the lacing left behind was *vertical* as the thin streams of bubbles slid down and weren't like anything that I'd ever seen before. Lots of milk chocolate, nuttiness, raspberry juice, and coffee in the nose as the taste was a pleasing but mellow combination of those notes. Smooth, creamy, and having just a bit of powder in the mix, the taste was very enjoyable but mellow and somewhat relaxed given how potent this was. Hard time finding the coconut here as the coffee creamer-like sweetness overpowered it by a large enough margin.
13.50% ABV? It may say so on the bottle but you'll have a hard time finding it, even down to the last sip. It's a testimony to Other Half that one of their less impressive Stouts is still better than nearly anything else I've had as of late. Like this series and this take on it, just for how sublime and easygoing it was, even for something of this sort!

This brings me back to my childhood breakfasts at Kings Hawaiian Bakery on Sepulveda Blvd. The aroma of coconut confections hits first. And the Augustus Gloop serving of pancakes with macadamia syrup follows. Not that i realized it then, but my parents liked their coffee light and sweet. This is a diabetic's nightmare. The sweet is tempered by the nuttiness, and unfortunately not the coffee, which only delivers a slightly acrid note.

Mid sized bottle, direct from the source a week or two ago.
Typical OH Imperial stout look, leaves a moderate amount of fine bubble mocha film, thin collar and minor lacing.
Milk chocolate sniff, with a hint of coconut.
Delicious and well crafted brew, super smooth as it flows over the tongue and through the mouth. More soft chocolate notes, mellow cafe au lait goodness and again just a hint of some sweetening coconut. 13.5%(!) nowhere in sight...world class sipper/night capper...go get some
