5 oz pour on tap. Smells and tastes like a big stout with macadamia nuts or maybe pecans. The nut flavor is very noticeable and doesn't come across as artificial at all. The 12% abv is well-hidden. Better than I expected.

Burnt black with a bubbly mocha collar, Mixed Nuts is sharply hot yet definitely nutty, but it's more like a nutty liqueur with cocoa, via a thin, sticky dry body.

Picked this up recently at Other Half and got around to it on this quiet, cloudy Sunday. Most of their other Stouts that I've had lately were quite enjoyable but this one was pedestrian at best. Sure, there's nut flavors here and once again, the alcohol was quite recessed but if you're looking for something in the upper echelon of beers, this would certainly not fit that bill...
Not a bad pour to this as the liquid was dark, silky, and inviting but lacked any discernible head and carbonation as it almost didn't even seem like beer. Only a bit of spotty, mocha lacing could be seen as I worked my way through this as it was much thinner than I would have liked. The woodsiness of the nuts was easily felt here but these notes were not deep - either in the aroma or the taste. Hard to figure this out when the toasted, roasted, hopped, and boozy aspects were hardly anywhere to be seen. There were nuts in here but the ones featured were tough to pick out and there weren't any sweet or fruity aspect of the beer to enhance those at all.
This was strong enough to be a Stout but never felt like it was on par with other ones that I've had with this much alcohol in it. If you're looking for something basic and introductory, this would be a great place to start but for those of us who hold the proverbial bar a bit higher, this fell short of it. Only worth having once as a break from heavier and more complex beers...

Tastes of all the bits out in including almonds, hazelnuts, and pecans. Heavy ABV and not as amazing as other stouts from this brewery but still very solid drinking.
