Yet again, this was a beer that I picked up at Other Half and took a while to get around to. I enjoyed the other potato offerings that were brewed with Monkish and this one was even softer than those were, as it indeed felt like one of the former's Daydream releases! The body was a bit more full on this one, however..
Canned on 1/31/19 with "ALL BANGERS NO MASH" written underneath that, the play on words was funny given this beer's starchy moniker. When it came to it's appearance, it looked like one of the Daydream beers as it was soft, golden, and topped off with a moderate head. Most of the lacing left behind was in the form of a few quasi-visible rings that were deep but not terribly bold. Lots of oats, lactose, potato, and cream in the nose as the taste was a bit more slick, sweet, and subtly dank in the back with some celery and earthy vegetables in the mix as well . Smoother than the original Twice Backed, the body was balanced, but light, and the carbonation was hardly anywhere to be found either as there was only a few small pieces of sediment at the bottom of the liquid.
Not a ton of booze in this one and it was nearly impossible to detect on my palate or on my breath after I finished this off. The sour cream was felt more in the mouthfeel than in the taste the chewiness that lingered after my time with this truly made this feel like a topped-off baked potato. This was fun, easy to drink, and unoffensive as a beer could be without any aspect in particular standing out. Love it when these two breweries get together!
