We wanted to brew a tribute to the place where it all started, our tiny old taproom. When we started 5 years ago breweries were not allowed to sell beer for on premise consumption in NYS, so we built a tiny room for to-go sales. Luckily, the law changed 6 months later, but it left us with a ridiculously small taproom. Obviously we have a new taproom now, but we will always miss the OG! Brewed with a delicious combo of Mosaic, Citra, Simcoe, Nelson Sauvin and Motueka.

Gotta love the name of this beer as indeed, I *do* miss the old Other Half. Thankfully, the old taproom is still there and many of the people that I saw in line still go, even if it's not as often as when they first opened. Lotta hops in this one as the flavors were varied and this seemed to be as much a New England IPA as much an American Imperial IPA but of course, the end result was a beer that didn't stay in my pint glass for very long!
Nice pour to this as this was straw-hued, cloudy, and uniform in color. The head wasn't terribly big for how long it lasted and the lacing was quite sparse and scattered aside from the rocky collar near the top of my pint glass. Grape, dank grapefruit, wood, and ripe tropical fruit were in the nose as the taste was just as deep, dank, and varied. Somewhat dry on the palate, all 5 hops came through in various forms with lots of citrus, tropical fruits, white grape, grass, and grapefruit showing at times with some spice, dew, and overripe tones rounding things out. A nice slickness, balanced body, and deep, funky forest aftertaste gave this plenty of depth and of course, left me wanting more.
The alcohol was present and subtly minty when it came to it's bite and cleanliness on the palate. Canned on 2/7/19 with "HAND *something* ONLY" written underneath that, this was fun and deceptively easy to drink. It had me missing the old taproom but left me feeling so glad that Other Half is still killing it after all this time!

Not big with descriptions, but this was really good considering no oat cream involved.

Decanted from a 16 oz (473 ml) can into a snifter glass; canned 2/7/19 (code: HAND LABEL ONLY) and obtained during that insane release.
A: Pours a cloudy straw color, darker at the bottom, with a less than one finger, white head, which dissipates to a rim and limited soapy lacing. Looks a lot like white grapefruit juice.
S: Aromas of sweetened grapefruit, sugar candy, and pine.
T: Semisweet. Palate follows the nose to a degree, although becomes more lemony as it warms. Bitterness solid and works well with the otherall flavor picture.
M: Medium bodied with low to medium carbonation. Creamy and smooth.
O: Very enjoyable NEIIPA. Appears to have been going for the more traditional flavor pallet and, if so, succeeded.

A: Attractive dark canary yellow. Kinda flat looking after a minute with no discernable head.
S: Dank papaya and ripe mango. Fresh squeezed orange.
M: Med-full body with a lively and peppery snap. Smooth finish.
T: Good tropical hop presence with complimentary tartness of lime, passionfruit and gooseberry. Stone fruit and apricot bridges the two. Has a lot of hop varieties, but the melange is exquisitely done.
