Yeah, this was a collaboration between two brewers that I love so this was something I had to get. Unfortunately, it ended up in my queue and took a while to get to but alas, here I am finally getting around to it This had quite a tropical and exotic feel to it while being easy to drink and stylistically true to form!
Canned on 3/6/19 with nothing written above or below it, this poured like lychee with a bit of an exotic, tropical peach hue with some light seeping in around the edges. This had little head, even less lacing, and enough dark sediment to it that ended up at the bottom of the liquid although that was probably my fault given how long I let this sit for. Lots of lychee, guava, mango, and tropical juice in the nose as the taste was more fruity, lively, and just as juicy as the nose indicated. Not overly carbonated, this was lively and had enough cracker and bread in the malt to balance out the flavors although the coconut was quite hard to pick out; as this wasn't roasted nor exotic like that fruit. Instead, it leaned more towards raspberry because of the juice and light tartness as the slickness left behind on the palate was quite pleasing and long-lasting...
I have no idea how a Berliner Weisse ends up having this much alcohol in it but that was the case with this beer, although it wasn't anything that detracted from my enjoyment of this. No, I don't see this beer winning awards but it might win a few imbibers over to the style as it was fun and quite easy to put down. A bit more acidity, carbonation, and yeast would have done wonders for it but as it was, this was a fun diversion from the more serious fare that I'm accustomed to!

Definately taste the J Wakefield inlfuence with the guava, lychee, and coconut influence on this beer. Solid taste, very good for a warm summer day. Solid...
