Once again, this was a beer that I bought last year and took a while to get around to. Of course, I love anything that Other Half produces and the little that I've had from Civil Society has also been quite enjoyable. Thought this beer's moniker was somewhat relevant as it was *almost* enough to put me to sleep although it wasn't soft enough to have me floating on cloud nine...
Not a bad pour to this as the liquid was hazy, chalky, and reminiscent of white cheese. Not a lot of head topped it off as this left behind a thin ring near the top of my pint glass. Lots of Pilsner Malt and oats in the nose to go along with the cream and tangerine that were a hint of things to come. Plenty of tangy citrus, vanilla cream, and minty freshness emerged on the palate as the underlying dankness of this beer only shone through once this fully warmed up. Deep forest, weed, and urine only came through in the back end as this beer had quite a range of flavors to it, from start to finish.
The underlying strong alcoholic presence only added to this brew's appeal as it made this just as strong as it was in actuality. A light carbonation and tons of dank Mosaic, as well as an unknown sense of Sabro added to this beer's appeal with the end result being a sweet and creamy front that turned heavier and more turbid during my session. Canned on 3/14/19 with nothing written above or below it, this beer was like it's label - simple up front but more up-front and complex once I gave it a closer look. This was easily enjoyable while leaving me wanting for more, or at least a second go-around...
