Bottle.
Black color. Little to no head. Thick.
Lots of chocolate and peanut butter. Some coffee. Faint roast. Fudge. Thick.
Kind of a boring pastry stout. I’d expect more from these big names.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color ale with a large dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of sweet chocolate notes with faint peanut notes and floral coffee notes. Taste is also a mix of sweet chocolate notes with some faint peanut notes and some coffee notes with residual sugar notes and no bitterness. Body is pretty full with good carbonation and light warming alcohol notes are also apparent. Enjoyable even though peanut butter is not as dominant as expected.

So much residual fats from the nuts that the head disappeared almost immediately. Smells and tastes almost barrel-aged. The 14% is front and center. Tons of booze, and more vanilla than peanut butter on the nose. Taste is hot, boozy, Reese’s peanut butter cup, with a slightly bitter finish that I presume is the coffee. It’s real good, but drinking the whole bottle would be a chore.

Dark pour to this beer with a mocha head. Smells a bit more roasty and malty than a typical Stout from Other Half. Taste pretty boozy with some peanut butter as well.

Picked this up along with it's other iteration this past weekend at Other Half in Brooklyn. Most of their Stouts lately have been quite strong and very sweet and this one certainly fit the former as the amount of booze in here was very potent. Thankfully, the sugar content was lower here as this felt more like a Halloween treat more than a pastry...
The pour to this was what I expected - dark, with a minimal mocha head that didn't last too long but topped off the liquid nicely. No lacing left behind as this beer was not as thick as I anticipated. Tons of peanut butter, roasted coffee, powdery chocolate, and a slight creaminess to the nose as they were all present and stronger in the taste. Cloying and a bit sticky, this felt a bit like s'mores without the graham crackers even though there was plenty of body to this beer. Even a bit of peanut oil seemed to be in this as this had a nice slickness to it, without feeling too overdone or nutty...
Lots of booze here but this felt more like a strong coffee with creamer than an American Imperial Stout, which once again proves how well Other Half is at brewing beers such as this. Balanced, rich, and flavorful, this was a fun beer that still took a while to savor because of the (almost too) strong peanut butter presence. Still glad I was able to give this a go!

On tap at Other Half Brewing Co Rochester in Bloomfield, NY.
This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and basically no lacing.
This one smells surprisingly roasty and bitter for an Other Half stout, with tons of roasty peanut butter and heavily roasted dark coffee. There's some chocolate, too, but the added flavorings dominate here for sure.
This is medium bodied, slightly syrupy, with a decent level of drinkability, as there's basically no booziness.
This didn't run quite as candy shop as most Other Half stouts do, and that was pretty nice.
