This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells like lightly sweet dried cherry, melted pistachio ice cream, chocolate fudge, vanilla, and slight roast.
I was worried the cherry would be overwhelming here, but luckily it's not. The pistachio is creamy, and along with the lactose, really evokes an ice cream like flavor. It's super chocolatey as well, and very sweet, with not enough roast or bitterness to counterbalance it.
This is thick and syrupy, with no booziness at all. It's surprisingly drinkable despite how biiig it is.
This is pastry to the max + , but still quite tasty.

Bomber poured into snifter
One finger dense, soapy brown foam cap, good retention, settles to a brown foam layer over dark brown liquid
Aromas of cocoa nibs, roast malts, chocolate, tobacco,
Taste is chocolate , roast malts, hint of pistachio , chocolate liqueur on the finish, hint of the cherries
Low sudsing , smooth , slightly creamy from the lactose
Good beer

Poor is very dark with a taste of chocolate as well as fudge. Taste of cherry, vanilla as well as pistachio. Good richness in this beer. tastes a lot like the dessert would but in a glass.

Pours very dark, great mocha head that slowly recedes. Looks a tad thin. Aroma is fudge chocolate. Sweet and syrupy, loads of tangy cherry prevail throughout the drinking experience, lots of chocolate as well. Looks thin but feels thick and syrupy, carbonation is appropriately light. Overall a fun dessert stout. However, I don’t think Spumoni when I drink it - I think of a cherry cordial - rich chocolate with sweet cherry syrup on the inside. Still a great dessert stout, misnamed IMO.

Let's face it - I'm from New Jersey but unlike many of my peers from this neck of the woods, I'm not Italian. Sure, I enjoy the pizza and cannoli that I can find in my backyard but spumoni is something that I'm not terribly familiar with. With that being said, this beer was a delectable combination of neapolitan ice cream and pistachios that was sweet and rich while being so enticing at the same time!
Nice pour to this as the liquid was a dark, chocolatey brown with a mocha head that nicely complemented what was below it. Tons of lacing was left behind as I worked my way through this as the rings covered a majority of my glass as each one copiously bled into the one below. Tons of cherry, chocolate, vanilla, berry, and pistachio in the nose as the sweetness, tartness, nuttiness, and richness of the aroma were all balanced out, even if the overall impression on me wasn't that strong. Lovely taste to this as this was as enjoyable a dessert beer if there ever was one - without me having to worry if this would melt before I finished it off!
Plenty of booze in this but with the powder from the cacao nibs and the slickness from the cherries and lactose, you'd be hard-pressed to guess how strong this was without looking at the label. Brewed here in America, this was worthy of anything that came from the old country as the sweetness hid any inherent flaws that might have emerged in this. Nice collaboration and nice job all-around with this - just make sure that you're ready for the last beer of this night when you uncap this one and give it a go!
