Once again, this was a beer from Other Half that I bought there and took a while to get around to. Loved the original iteration of this as this version was nice but not as good as that one. Yes, this was canned on 5/15/19 with "$$MONEY$$ MOVES" written underneath it but this was more typical for Other Half than something that was better because of experimental hops. Given their high standards, that's a good thing but I hope for a bit more from this!
This had a somewhat typical hazy, golden hue to it that was uniform in color and fairly bright. Not a lot of head topped it off as the lacing left behind was very thick and spotted at the top of my pint glass with a few thin rings and dots below that. Usual mango, papaya, and tropical fruits to the nose as they were incredibly smooth and harmonious without being too overt or overpowering. Basic malt, tangy juice, and smooth hops dominated the mouthfeel as this was fun and enjoyable without breaking any new ground or leaving me readily wanting more.
As is the case with most Other Half offerings, the booze here was well-hidden as this wasn't in my glass for very long. Some grass and earthy hops lingered in the aftertaste but overall, this was a beer that went down easily that wouldn't offend much of anyone. Love the label but even with that, I'd still prefer the original over this!
