Clear, golden color. Medium-sized, white head. Aroma of hay, malt, and fruits. Well balanced, malty taste with refreshing, herbal bitterness.A very good lager.

Clear light gold with light, white head. A very pretty beer.

Aroma is a spot-on combination of slightly-sweet, lightly-toasted grain, barely-there spiciness, and some floral scents ( Think of an old field in late summer/early fall, think goldenrod, aster, and bedstraw. ) Just a bit subdued.

Taste is initially similar to aroma, but lighter and drier. A hint of citrus on the finish, that leans to lime zest. Light bitterness at finish.

Feel is light, and crisp on the finish. More crisp than expected, granted I haven't had many helles. More pils-like. Finish is drying, and leaves the front of the tongue feeling lightly sanded. Thankfully it stops just short of the "licking cardboard" sensation, that rubs me the wrong way in many mass-produced light lagers.

Overall, I like it. That bit of lime detracts , though, and leaves me less than 100% satisfied. Ymmv.

 

 

 

 

 

Grainy and sweet with a bitter finish. A little thicker mouthfeel that I expect in a helles. Smells grainy, bready and sweet. Taste is sweet with a lot of bready flavor.
