A: Deep cocoa brown appearance.
S: Just sweet chocolate. If there's any cinnamon it's nuanced enough to enhance the sweetness...and it's curdingly sweet.
M: Full body just south of cloying.
T: The description is kinda what you get here except the aroma begot more Max Brenner's chocolate bar than anyone peddling churros in a subway. I'm O.K. with that as the cinnamon really supports the marshmallow sweetness. Either way, this is more akin to s'mores made with cinnamon graham crackers, or at most, churros dipped in gourmet chocolate. There is a slight raspberry sensation that I appreciate.

If you take the Subway enough times in New York like I do, you see the lady in the mezzanine or transfer walkway going "Churro, Churro, Churro, $3..." or something of the like. I've never bought one but it's such an ingrained part of New York that when this was released at Other Half last week, I had to give it a go to see if it was up to it's description. If you like your beers sweet and have enjoyed their recent bottled releases, than this would be up your alley as it in line with those!
Of course, this beer poured dark but it was *really* surprising that there wasn't any head whatsoever on this as the liquid went right up to the top of my glass. No lacing was left behind either as I sipped this as the liquid was a bit thinner than I would have liked. Thankfully, everything else about this beer was spot-on from the aroma onward. Loads of marshmallow, cinnamon, caramelized churro sweetness, and milk chocolate. Cacao nibs, exotic vanilla, and hints of s'mores came through in the taste as this was an overt a dessert beer as anything that I've had in quite some time. The sticky marshmallow sweetness, down to the puffiness, could have been dialed back a bit but otherwise, this worked and was incredibly smooth and easy to quaff given how potent it was.
The booze was here but you'll be wishing that you were near a campfire or that the local wasn't running express as you sip this as the balanced body, hints of rich cocoa, and lack of carbonation slowly take hold and softly fade away after each sip. A bit of brandy and raspberry came through in the midst of all of this but in the end, this was easily worth it's weight, and price, in churros from the cart. Leave it to Other Half to nail Gotham as well as any brewery in the 5 Boroughs!
