Sure, I like cherry cheesecake. Who doesn't? When I saw that this was the flavor of beer that was in Other Half's latest Berliner Weisse, I was intrigued. Sure, I love their offerings and this style was one that they were able to brew well with their own take on it but it was just a bit too sweet and thick for me to take *too* seriously!
This poured beet red with plenty of light seeping through it, without a lot of haze or sediment in it. Very little head and even less lacing as the side of my pint glass was nearly clear after every sip. A TON Of cherry cheesecake in the nose with syrup and cream cheese right behind it as the taste was incredibly sweet, thick, and sugary. Couldn't feel the graham cracker in each sip but gosh, the body was certainly chewy and flaky until the last drop with plenty of pie crust, syrupy sweetness, and sweet cheesecake underneath that. Easily the thickest Berliner Weisse that I've ever had, this was fun but also heavy as it took a while to get down.
A lot of that had to do with the underlying alcohol that was quite strong and the lack of hops or carbonation to lighten the dessert load that my mouth took in. Canned on 7/11/19 with OH>JUNIORS written on the bottom, this nearly trumped that institution that's known for having the best dessert in Brooklyn. If you can't get there for your cheesecake fix, grab this instead. It's nearly the real thing and just as much fun!

L - 1/2 finger head is gone in a flash, leaving behind an opaque reddish-maroon body.
S - cherry, vanilla, graham cracker.
T - follows the nose. Cherry pie filling with a dash of cherry cough syrup. Low bitterness. Moderate sweetness. Low booziness.
F - medium body and carb.
O - not getting much cheesecake, but definitely cherry pie.

Berliner Weisse style is always a sweet treat. This is a big beer at 8.2% but you don't taste the alcohol. No boozy taste at all just cherry flavor with Graham cracker and vanilla with slight cream cheese. Just a tiny hint of alcohol. Nice dessert beer!! I recommend to beer fans of the Berliner Weisse style. Sip it slow and enjoy! Well worth the $10 for one can. Excellent World Class beer!!!

16oz can from the brewery. Pours a murky purple-ish red with a small amount of head that disappears quickly. Slightly sour aroma of cherries, Graham crackers, cream cheese, vanilla and hints of berries. The taste is like the aroma and pretty much delivers on the promise of the name. Maybe has a hint of cherry cough syrup but the overall cherry flavor is good and works. More of the cheesecake flavor of cream cheese, whipped cream and graham crackers. Somewhat boozey with a cherry finish. Light to medium body with very little carbonation.
