There's an old saying - don't judge a book by it's cover. Same could be applied to beers as I liked the label for this and have had a good experience with the other Berliner Weisse beers from Other Half that I've had lately. Sure enough, all of the flavors of neapolitan ice cream were here but this turned out to be a sweet and heavy fustercluck of a beer that was unlike anything I've ever had or will probably ever have again!
Such an odd pour to this - the liquid was like strawberry and guava with a moderate amount of light seeping through around the edges. A moderate head topped it off and the lacing was quite thin with a few hints of rings lingering near the top of my pint glass. Thick strawberry syrup, sweet vanilla, and earthy, deep chocolate were all in the nose as this packed a wallop with the flavors attempting to outdo each other. Some tartness, lactic acid, or bubbles in the taste would have taken the edge off and made this more palatable but alas, none of these were anywhere to be found.
Clumps of dark, brown sediment would rise up from the bottom as I sipped this even this beer wasn't quite that old, although nothing was written on the bottom of the can. Too much heavy chocolate and strawberry patch did this in as this neither felt like a neapolitan treat or a Berliner Weisse. More of a Fruit/Vegetable beer with a bit of extra heft, this oddity was worth a go once and one of the few brews from Other Half that let me down. At least i got to keep the label!

Can: Poured a pale yellow color Berliner Weisse with a medium size white foamy head. Aroma of fake syrupy notes with light tart notes. Taste is a mix of also fake syrupy notes which resembles Napolitano ice cream with some gross sugar notes and a tart finish. Body is light with good carbonation. Experiment gone wrong.
