6.5% gose, salt version. Initially tart, then smooth except for some salt which is there, and then lingers on the tongue. Can from Finger Lakes location.

Sure, this was made to quench a thirst in the late summer heat but it's also fitting the bill during these trying times. Canned on 8/16/19 with "MELON PARTY" written below it, this was full of fruit, even down to this beer's appearance. This was certainly a double but this style of beer kept the edge and harshness off of it even though I felt a bit of warming by the time I finished it off!
This beer poured a watermelon and strawberry red as it was quite pulpy in appearance and thickness. A moderate, raspberry head topped it off as it quietly and quickly settled as there wasn't a lot of lacing left behind, aside from a few thin and wavy rings with one being right near the lip of my pint glass. Earthy melon, strawberry patch, and tangy lime were in the understated and sweet nose as they burst forth in the taste. This reminded me of a drink that I'd get from Sonic but without the soda since the carbonation was hardly anywhere to be felt here. A few bits of dark sediment were at the bottom but that was all for any overt aging of this beer.
The citrus slickness lingered on the palate once I finished this off as the booze warmed me up just a wee bit. Earthy in nature with some deep citrus pith, this was heavier than I expected but still easy to drink. These beers are fun and further proof that Other Half's take on Berliner Weisse beers are in a category of their own!
