This was the first Chroma beer that I bought at Other Half in Brooklyn, even though it took a while for me to get to. Of course it was brewed upstate but still had the lovely label that I've come to expect from these guys as it was indicative of the simple, but lovely liquid that was inside of the can!
Nice pour to this as the liquid was a solid, subtly radiant, and uniform golden straw with enough fluffy head topping it off. A thick and rocky head could be found just a bit below the top of my pint glass as it was quite a sight! Just a shame that there were only scattered splotches below that. As for the aroma, it was full of subtle pineapple juice, tangerine cream, light outdoorsy dankness, and a bit of dewy grass in the nose as the taste just burst forth out of nowhere. Really nice combination of dank, sweet, and juicy in it as this ended up catching me by surprise. Everything melded well together with this being subtly wonderful once it fully warmed up.
The amount of booze was great too as it didn't distract from the flavor in this, and the carbonation was light enough to be felt without allowing everything to linger throughout my session. Canned sometime late in 2019, this almost goes back to the roots of what a good American IPA, and what an Other Half beer, should be. If you want your brew to be no-frills and solid, reach for this. It really does contain the best of Simcoe!
