Picked this up at Other Half a few months back and got one other can with a different set of colors on the label. I think that there were four total but two of these were enough as this was very typical for what one would expect from both breweries. Sure, this was incredibly smooth, juicy, and easy to drink, but as much I enjoyed this, this didn't break any new ground for me...
Given that four types of Citra were used in this, this poured like straight orange juice with lots of fine, dark sediment floating around in the liquid. Just a tad of the heavier and lighter-hued residue settled at the bottom but never did this look or feel old! Enough head topped this off, as it slowly settled, with the lacing left behind looking like leopard spots once you got below the initial ring near the top of my pint glass. Tons of orange pith, rind, and turbid citrus in the nose with a bit of cream and smooth, tangerine hop dankness right underneath that. The taste was just the same with some murkiness, peach and stone fruit sweetness, and nectar rounding out this beer's flavor. Quite sticky on the palate and lips, the overall mouthfeel was slick except for the heavier residue that lingered, and left me wanting more!
Plenty of booze in this one with some deep pine and subtle orange blossom sweetness on my breath once this went down. This was quite fun but not a smooth sipper as the heft and warming effect took hold well before I finished this off. Canned on 1/22 of this year, this was a worthy find and almost felt like a pure juice bomb that would rival the better offerings from Tree House. The HDHC releases from Other Half are really a world apart and take IPA's to a whole new level, and this was no exception!
