Other Half is one of my favorite breweries and Magnify is the closest one to where I live in New Jersey, so I had to give this beer a go. Along with it's unusual name, the list of ingredients and notes were noteworthy so I was eager to give this a go. If you're like me and you love fruited yogurt, this would be up your alley as this was exactly what this ended up tasting like, down to the milky, lactose thickness that was this brew's hallmark.

Not surprising that this poured like blueberry juice but it was much thicker and without any pulp or sediment in it. Not a lot of raspberry head topped this off as what was there was quite bubbly, thin, and short-lasting. That was an indicative of the lacing as that was nowhere to be seen throughout my session. Lots of blueberry, coconut, kaffir lime, and yogurt sourness in the nose as the taste was just as full with some acetate, berry juice, and milk sugar in the taste, this was sweet, juicy, and only a bit tart as this certainly wasn't a typical Berliner Weisse. It almost came across as a Fruit / Vegetable beer but the sourness was an indication that indeed, this was something a bit more complex and intricate than a beer with blueberries added to it.

The lime really kicked in once this went down as the aftertaste was full of it in a bright and tangy way. Not a lot of booze here but the carbonation was strong enough to keep this from feeling like something I'd buy in the dairy aisle of the supermarket. In the end, the coconut saved this as the slickness complemented the blueberry and the subtle sweetness and slickness of it gave this beer the mouthfeel that it needed, and that drew it apart from any other Berliner Weisse that I've ever had. Canned on 2/27, this held up well over the last 2 1/2 months and was something that grew on me as I worked my way through it. Lots going on here without being overwhelming to the senses!

Pours a nice red color. Off white red colored head, that is 2 finger. Retention isn't the best. No lacing on the glass.
The nose has a fruity, semi sweet aroma. I'm not the best at this, but, I think I'm getting some blueberry. Hints of coconut.
Taste - The blueberry is mellowed out by the coconut. I would have never thought that the 2 would work together, but they do.
The body is decent. The blueberry does leave a pleasing after taste.
Tasty and delicious. Might be a crazy good beer on a hot summer day, because, even though it's a full bodied beer, it's also refreshing.
