Picked this up a few weeks ago, along with some more notable releases at Other Half. This was described as being a lot like the Green City, but with the Oat Cream treatment, which was a good way to describe how soft this ended up turning out. While not particularly notable, this was fun, juicy, and easy to kick back with!
The pour to this was nice as the liquid was a muted gold that let in some like and was uniform in hue. A moderately thin head topped this off as it was soft and took quite a while to settle down, as plenty of layered lacing coated a vast majority of my pint glass. Lots of oats, some cream, and a hint of dank Simcoe hops filled up the muted nose as the taste followed suit. Smooth on the palate, the taste was indeed more plush than the original iteration of this but that didn't necessarily result in a better beer. A grassy, outdoorsy feel took hold once this fully warmed up with a bit of lime, melon, tangerine, and cream rounding out the flavor profile as the carbonation was quite light, but just present enough to take any rough edges off.
The fair amount of booze was a plus too as any more would have weighed this down and taken away from it's sweetness. Canned on 8/4 with nothing written under it, this was a fine beer for Other Half junkies like myself although it's quite a bit like many of their more well-known offerings. The green is barely here with the end result being a brew that was a distant cousin of the Green City.
