Poured from a can (30Oct2020) into a Teku
L: pours a dirty darker orange, totally opaque but not creamy, with a very thick with head. Fades after a couple minutes, leaves some mild lacing same with each sip
S: good full tropical nose, with that dank mango/papaya/pineapple aroma leading nicely. Get some melon sweetness as well, overall a nice tropical cocktail with pretty much no bitterness or earthiness. As it warms aroma gets some more depth, fairly rich
T: follows the nose well, great mix of tropical fruit quite juicy. Real cocktail flavor, would say most of the tropical fruit hits at once rather than with any kind of sequence. There’s a bit of piney/earthiness to the swallow, particularly in the middle/the finish, that helps cut some of that fruit sweetness and add depth overall. Get mango, papaya, some mild grapefruit/tangerine citrus - a bit of earthiness into the medium+ finish
F: medium carbonation, medium+ mouthfeel, very drinkable and smooth, slightly drying
O: a great DIPA from OH, as expected. More amplified version of one of my favorite brews from them, while maybe not world class everything works in this beer
