Once again, Other Half has collaborated with J. Wakefield with wondrous results. This wasn't originally on my list when I went into Brooklyn last week as the DFPF that it's based off of was rated extremely high on here. Sure enough, this would be rated high on my book as this was one of the best Berliner Weisse beers that I've ever had, as it was easily enjoyable on this cold All Hallows Eve!
No doubt that the pour was the standout feature of this beer as it looked like liquid raspberries with a perfect haze to the hue. the offsetting cherry blossom hue and lively bubbles filled up my pint glass nicely as they softly and quietly settled. Loads of passion fruit, dragon fruit, grape, acetate, gooseberry, and sourness in the nose as the taste contained all of these in a near-perfect proportion with some lime and exotic fruit thrown into the mix. Soft, juicy, and just lively enough, this was a fun beer with a smooth mouthfeel, a hint of saltines in the malt, and enough carbonation to keep this lively from the first sip onward. Plenty of berry juice lingered on my palate as this was so easy to drink and enjoy, even as fall rapidly turned into winter tonight!
Booze? It's here somewhere but you'll have enough fun savoring this and all of it's nuances that you won't notice the warming effect quietly taking hold of you. Canned on the 15th with "The Floridian Passion Dragon" written underneath that, this had me quite eager to try the original. Since I won't be getting that anytime soon, this will do and would easily suffice for anyone quarantined and unable to travel. Fabulous stuff that's some of the best of this style out there!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
