Imperial Stout with Mudhouse Roasters Ethiopian Teshome Gemechu Coffee, Vanilla and Milk Sugar. We have worked with the fine folks at Mudhouse on our Double Sunset stouts the last few years and this year is no different bringing in this Ethiopian coffee they describe as having toasted almond, white peach and brown sugar.

Bottle pour at Other Half FInger Lakes in Bloomfield, NY.
THis one pours a fairly dark black color, with a pretty small head, and not much lacing.
This smells like very sweet coffee, vanilla, maple, and sugar.
The original run of these beers was better - like all OH stouts lately, the Double Sunsets have just gotten too sweet. They don't shine as dominantly coffee stouts - the unrefined sugar content left on the tongue from the base stout is just so sugary sweet, like an almost artificial maple type flavor. The coffee character here is nice, but it's not given a good enough canvas to play off of.
This is definitely thick, but certainly syrupy sweet, with a lower level of carbonation.
I used to love OH stouts. They just don't get me going anymore.
