Imperial Stout with Ceremony Coffee Roasters Mexican Siltepec Coffee, Vanilla and Milk Sugar. Ceremony is down near our DC location in the fair land of Baltimore and is a regular in our coffee drinking rotation. This Mexican Siltepec is sweet and clean. The folks at Ceremony describe it as walnut and date and it definitely has some chocolate notes.

Sampling a cellar temp 500 ml bottle poured into my snifter. Bottle was picked up at the brewery about 10 months ago by a friend of mine and has been in my cellar since.
the beer pours a black coffee color into the glass and a fizzy brown foam rises up and fades to nothing almost immediately.
Surprised with lack of head retention on this one, but at the higher ABV, maybe shouldnt have been.
The aroma is dark chocolate and some vanilla mixed with roasted notes and some roasted coffee grounds and a cream and sugar mix. Overall the nose is kind of sweet but not overly so or candy like.
the first sip reveals a medium body with a soft silky texture and very fine gentle rolling carbonation. The beer drinks very easy for a bigger brew. There is a bit of a coating on my palate after each sip.
Flavor is similar to the nose, dark chocolate, some sweet vanilla and roasted notes mixing. I get a bit of rich coffee in the middle and then the vanilla and a milk chocolate note carries the finish and lingers. Never any hops nor any hint of the ABV in this beer. A sipper, but dangerously smooth and hidden Alcohol.
Glad to have tried this nice stout. Id get this again or try other bottles from the brewery if I had the chance.
