Poured from the can into a Spiegeaul IPA glass.
Fluffy and big topped bright white rocky head, making an easy four fingers of height and lots of retention and staying power. Body is opaque, a bit of a dark lemon yellow, hinting with a touch of shine but also some dull custard like appearances. Not a turbid murky mess, but certainly not beaming. Simple looker.
Aroma is a nice dominant solid nose. Hits light pine and airy touches of earthy hop. Mild touches of woody smoke as well, with a mellow sense. Seems a little diverse on hop aroma slightly, and with a simple neutral malt and yeast presence.
Pretty surprising palate. Real juicy flavor of orange and lemon drops, hints a bit of sweetness and lemonade like character. Luckily sweetness isn't overbearing, but the body is a bit basic bordering on wet and light which is surprising, maybe even impressive, for an imperial. Light touches of lemon drop candy on the finish, and drinks so easily.
Not what I was expecting, but can't complain much here. Strangely feels and tastes like a real poundable IPA that at 8.5 just really isn't.

Pours a pale orange with a fluffy head.
Not a ton of smell but there is a bit of bright lemon drop citrus scent
The huge taste makes up for the lighter smell of the beer. Delicious candied tangerine and lemon flavors with just enough booziness to make the flavors really pop. A nice long finish that lets the slight bitterness play with the sweeter notes as you reach for another sip.
Nice and light mouthfeel with plenty of carbonation.
This one's not especially complex but it's just delicious. The sweet citrus notes are the standout flavor here, but it's balanced nicely with just a touch of bitterness. I'd get this one again if I see it.
