Collaboration with Shared Brewing

We brewed this with our STL fam during their fun festival and it turned out magical. Thanks to Shared for letting us bring this one to BK. Packed with plush amounts of Citra and Riwaka.

Pours murky orange / sand color with a creamy off-white colored head that dissipated slowly and left excellent foamy lacing coating the glass glass. Smells like sour orange juice, Windex, apricot, yeast, canned fruit cocktail, brown sugar and rotting pineapple. Not the dank hoppy aroma I was expecting.

Thankfully it tasted better than it smelled with orange juice, grapefruit, pineapple, tangerine, fruity candy like Razzles, caramel, melon, orange sorbet, biscuit, crackers, light peppery spices and minor booze in the finish. This was too tart to be session worth and had some odd flavors in the aftertaste. One of my least favorite OH IPA’s.

This was the last of the Other Half anniversary collaboration beers that I picked up recently as I was looking forward to all of these and their "freak week" natures. Like those beers, this was heavier than what I was accustomed to from these guys but it was an enjoyable beer that was a bit eccentric but familiar under the surface to a snob like me...

The pour to this was a dank apricot with just a hint of light seeping in around the edges. A moderately sufficient head topped it off as the lacing left behind was quite spotty below that. Lots of overripe tropical melon and honeydew in the nose as the taste burst forth with those with plenty of dank hops, swamp water, booze, and ripe star fruit along with dry feel that was reminiscent of white cheddar cheese. There was enough slickness and basic dough to the malt but the Riwaka was the star here as the recessed carbonation allowed that hop to be both prominent and long-lasting.

This was plenty strong, but not overpowering as this felt and tasted as fresh as could be. Canned on 1/21 with "FASHION WEEK" written under that, this was a beer that was exotic and funky while being completely easy to drink and likeable. Not overly plush, sweet, or creamy, experience aficionados would love the end result regardless as this was a quality brew that was new to the palate at the same time. Having a complementary and fashionable label was just the icing on the cake!
