Collaboration with Burial Beer Co.
Reminisce about your glory days with this DIPA. Dry Hopped with Sabro, Vic secret, Citra and Simcoe. Thanks to Doug at Burial for being the inspiration for name, he once was a scholarship swimmer, but still lost to @otherhalfmatt in a race.

Poured from 16oz can into my BeerAdvocate teku.
Appearance: thick and murky body with an orange hue and a thick finger of frothy ivory foam atop. Hazy indeed.
Smell: quite sweet with a bit of dankness and a moderately fruity character; it's not strong, but it's nice.
Taste: sweet, of course, with a fair dash of fruitiness. The dankness is not quite as present in the flavor as in the aroma. There's almost a ... strawberry? character, I guess? It's interesting. Sweetness is just about off the charts, though.
Mouthfeel: medium-rich body with a good carbonation and a nice smooth texture. I dig it.
Overall: everyone loves a sweet-ass IPA. I don't deny that it's tasty, but maybe it's not quite a session quaff.

This was one of a bunch of Other Half anniversary collaboration beers that I picked up not too long ago. Everything that I've had from Burial was enjoyable, and somewhat heavy, and that was the case with this too as it wasn't quite along the lines of Other Half's usual fare. It was good to see them leave their comfort zone a bit while concocting a brew that was familiarly comfortable at the same time.
Like the taste itself, the pour to this was a dark golden in hue and topped off with plenty of head. A deep ring of lacing remained near the top of my pint glass as the rings below that were thin and scattered, although the bottom half of my glass had plenty of soapy splotches covering it. Lots of ripe tropical fruit and boozy hops in the nose as the taste was just as green and dank. Mango, papaya, deep star fruit, weedy chocolate, and booze filled the palate as this was very dense, sticky, and subtly sweet with a ton of stickiness in the aftertaste. Syrupy on the palate, the carbonation was light and the malt was basic, but strong, as this had enough doughy heft through to the end.
Combined with some swamp water, deep forest, and turbid hops, all of this combined for a fun and dense beer that was murky throughout and every bit the 8.4% ABV listed on the label. Dated 1/20 on the bottom of the can, this held up well and was on par with anything I've had from Burial, or similar breweries out of Northern California. This warmed me up nicely and was plenty fun, as one was more than enough for a session!
