Encapsulated Imperial IPA with Phantasm powder. The behemoth of our Capsules series at 10% and packed with tropical fruit character inducing Phantasm powder. We packed this with Simcoe, Nelson Sauvin, Motueka, Mosaic and Mosaic Cryo plus some Mosaic Incognito for extra juice.

Picked this up recently at Other Half as this sounded like something that I'd want to enjoy and review on here. Like anything else with "capsules" in the name that they've released over the years, this was fabulous stuff with it's potency hidden as this was plenty smooth, slick, and packed with flavor!
The hue to this was a hazy straw as it was topped off with a pillowy, fluffy head that was as light and uneven as could be once it started to settle down. Lots of soapy splotches were left in the middle of my pint glass on down without any discernible rings emerging in the midst of it. Lots to like in the aroma as it was understated like the pour, as it was full of white peach, white grape, boysenberry, and amazingly lush tropical juice as the taste was just as varied, wet, and lip-smacking from the first sip to the last. Lots of fruit cocktail emerged once this fully warmed up with some pineapple juice to keep things plenty dank and exotic throughout, as this went down as easily as any Imperial IPA that I've ever had. Enough carbonation was here the body was light as I couldn't detect any particular malt in this.
This warmed me up as I had it's last drops but never did I taste or feel the alcohol on my breath. No doubt that this brew was deceptive in it's heft as it would be easy to hit these up, until I hit the floor. Canned on the 30th of last month, this had the feeling of Idaho 7, although that was not one of the hops featured here. On a cool spring night like tonight, this hit the spot perfectly as it served as another reminder of why I love Other Half so much. The Phantasm powder tied everything in together wonderfully as this beer would be easily worth seeking out!
