Imperial IPA with @fidensbrewing. The Axe is back. Our friends at Fidens came through to brew a follow up to Broccoli's Axe with us just in time for some FLX pre-anniversary festivities. The base recipe is based on Broccoli's Axe and has the classic Hallertau blanc, Simcoe, and Mosaic base hops you see in Broccoli. The Fidens crew was excited to use some of our hand selected Motueka and Nelson Sauvin from our friends @freestylehops so we used them extensively in the dry hop.

This one pours a fairly hazy and creamy-looking orange color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like orange creamsicles, mango, lemon, weed, pine, lime candies, and melon.
It stands to reason that a collaboration between two of the best hoppy beer producers in the state would turn out pretty excellent. This tastes super creamy, with orange, mango, pineapple, lemon, some lime, and just a general overriding tropical character. There is definitely a solid dank bitterness that helps keep this drinkable for me.
This is medium bodied, creamy, and rich, with no real booziness to it - no hint of that fact that it's a double IPA.
This is quite good, but that shouldn't really surprise anybody.
