We took our Deep Orbit imperial stout, barrel-aged it and then loaded it with classic Halloween candy — Chocolate Caramel Nougat and Peanut Butter Chocolate Candy.

L: Pours a thick oily black color with almost no head and no lacing on the glass.
S: A nutty almost almond smell, mixes with a strong bourbon barrel and some chocolate followed by vanilla.
T: The bourbon I very strong in this one. Some chocolate and vanilla but the bourbon kinda takes over everything else.
F: Bourbon like feel, oily and slick.
O: I like the aroma, but the taste feels like almost nothing but bourbon to me.

Tuesday? My Twins in free fall & facing Verlander? Fall creeping into the air? Gimme 500ML of 16% stout & my sorrow might be drowned in deep slumber for an evening. Sigh.
Huge. Black. Lidless Eye. Nose is all huge: bourbon, nuts, booze. Yeeeeeeee.
Deep Orbit – Cygnus Barrel Aged is a booze-breathing kraken. Big, sweet malts coat the palate & wend their way downwards from there. If it’s under my throat, it’s covered in malts. Then comes a holy hand grenade of nuttiness, searing alcohol, before a light contingent of caramel, Nougatti, & a finish of molasses covered sleepiness. Thick; concentrated; condensed; stout. Will have no problem polishing this off…over two hours. Man.
Intense. An excellent beer that is likely to interfere with the first hour or two of Wednesday. Ce la vie, bitches.
