Originating in the UK, Export Stouts were traditionally brewed with higher alcohol content and more hops than domestic ones to survive the long trip at sea to warmer climates. Our version has enough malt character, body, and mellow roast to make a robust stout suitable for export but with the addition of new-school Sabro hops that impart a low level of coconut-like character as a nod to the Caribbean countries where these beers remain popular today.

Black with brown highlights, big tan head, excellent retention, thick rings of lace
Smells like dark chocolate and fresh ground coffee beans
Tastes like iced coffee, baker's chocolate, a bit of herbal hops, nice lingering bitterness
Medium bodied and appropriately carbonated
Really digging this one

On tap at Other Half Finger Lakes in Bloomfield, NY.
This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small white head, and a good bit of lacing.
This smells like dark chocolate, clean roast, and a bit of an herbal bitterness.
This is really pleasant. There's a lot of dark chocolate character, creamy and smooth, with some light roasty and herbal bitterness. It's pretty straightforward, but pretty well done for a brewery that doesn't focus on straightforward and simple beers, most of the time.
This is medium bodied, creamy, reasonably rich, and nicely drinkable.
I love this style, but don't see it available often enough. I really enjoy the idea behind this series.
