Collaboration with Alvarado Street Brewery, Burial Beer Co. & Green Cheek Beer Company
With our friends at Alvarado St, Burial, and Green Cheek. East meets west in this oat cream IPA collab with some of the cream of the crop. We've been friends with this crew of talented brewers for a long time and to celebrate our 8th Anniversary we brewed up this IPA with generous amounts of oats, a little milk sugar, and a mountain of Riwaka, Centennial, and Galaxy hops.

This was one of two collaborative Other Half 8th anniversary beers that I picked up recently. Most of their beers that were brewed in conjunction with other brewers over the years have been hits and this was no exception as it was incredibly smooth, tasty, and nicely balanced as the hops selected melded nicely together without being overly strong or bitter.
The hue to this was a milky gold with a nice, full head that topped it off as the bubbles were of all different sizes. Not a ton of lacing was left behind as there were scattered soapy suds and a deep, but thin, ring that was left behind at the middle of my pint glass. Lots of soft hops, milk sugar, and oats in the nose as the taste was quite full and sticky like bread. A nice hint of green was underneath the star and jack fruit, and melon that was quietly present from start to finish. The burn was here and this was no doubt reminiscent of Other Half's more notable beers because of how pillowy this felt, but the tropical and stone fruit presence and Riwaka ensured that this would be noteworthy and easy to quaff.
The booze and carbonation were spot on as this felt lively and inviting, given it's full body. Dated 1/27 on the bottom of the can, this aged wonderfully and was just the right level of dank a little over a month later. This was wonderful and the trippy label was a nice reminder of Other Half's oat cream offerings from over the years. East certainly met West with an enjoyable result!
