Doing an all NZ hop week is the perfect time to brew with our good friends at Garage Project. We decided to mix it up with some NZ hops we usually don't brew with. We chose Southern Cross and Motueka in the whirlpool for their superior, hot-side tropical fruit and candied lemon-lime flavors and Rakau and Nelson in the dry hop – a favorite combo at Garage Project – for the tropical, white wine and sweet grapefruit aromatics and flavor.

Pours a turbid medium yellow/orange color, looks like light orange juice, minimal head. Looks like it is glowing. Aroma is dank, yet sweet; I get mango, candied pineapple, lime, orange, lemon, guava. Bursting with flavor, lots of pineapple, mango, sweet with lactose, guava, citrus, tropical fruit, pineapple. Lots going on here. Touch of bitterness on the finish. Thick and syrupy for a TIPA. Overall a delicious beer.

Can from the NZ Hop Week box. Pours a pale yellow gold with a finger or creamy white head that sticks around, nice lacing, smell is navel orange mist, musty white grape, lemon cake, cantaloupe, tropical fruit compote, hints of marshmallow and yellow pound cake, taste is dank orange zest, orange creamsicle, lemon cake with tropical fruit buttercream, white wine slushee, orange coconut cake, pina colada sorbet, hints of limoncello, feel is full bodied, medium carbonation and carbonic bite, dry/hoppy. Citrusy dank tropical sauce.

Creamy banana peel yellow with a finger of off-white head. OK retention and solid lacing.
The aroma comes across pungent at first, with green onion and jungle rot. That’s followed by some citrus and a sweeter pineapple impression.
Well balanced taste with some pineapple juxtaposed against lime and some peppery herb. Hop burn and some clear alcohol in the finish. Green onion in the aftertaste.
Slick, creamy, full feel with tight carbonation.
Decent brew all around. The type of thing that would have wowed a few years back, but today seems just solid for the ABV.
