Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout with Sightglass Coffee Blueboon Blend, with Vanilla and Milk Sugar Blueboon is a good contrast to Banner Dark, and shows the depth of flavors coffee can produce. This blend provides some soft chocolate notes that blend nicely with the stout base but also brings unique citrus and stone fruit character that compliment the base stout.

This was the second beer that I picked up from Other Half from their big release towards the tail end of last year. I love their stouts and although this wasn't bad, I wished it was a bit more on par with what I've had from them over the years. No, this wasn't a bad beer but when you've come to expect something so good from these guys.
Not surprisingly, this poured dark although as was the case with this brews other iteration, there wasn't any head or lacing to be seen although there was more than enough here to make up for that. Lots of bourbon, wood, caramel, stickiness, and booze was to be had in the nose as the taste closely followed suit. Of course, this was strong, nuanced, and sticky as this felt more like a liquor or cordial more than a beer although this was the latter when all was said and done. Strong, sweet, and sticky, this had so much going for it as it wasn't the best example of it's kind when all was said and done. The presence of chocolate and booze was enough to win me over as the hint of sweet and powdery chocolate was enough to win me over when all was said and done.
Indeed, this was plenty strong although the listed ABV% on the bottle was 13 and not the 14 that was listed on here. Regardless, this was a potent brew that had plenty of flavor and nuance to back up it's heft as I'd easily for this again, had I had another bottle on hand. If you like your stouts to be complex, sweet, and potent, then you have your match here, bearing that you have the time to fully appreciate this!

A - Pours pitch black with no head whatsoever. Zero lacing.
S - Aroma is heavy bourbon and coffee.
T - The taste is black coffee, vanilla, milk chocolate, caramel and a heavy handed punch of bourbon.
M - Full body with zero carbonation. Soft mountfeel with an oily dry finish.
O - Had higher hopes for this. Flavor is pretty one note with the bourbon overpowering the rest of the flavors.

Another 500ML bottle (the new bomber, complete with the same high prices!) popped open on a weeknight after taking in some shitty news today. Maybe I’ll have two.
Dead black. Dead. No life. Nose is a touch of roast, sweet malt, eh.
Double Sunset (Sightglass Coffee) is a kick to the jaw, & not a gentle one, without all the bruising & dislocation. BOOZE rips out of the glass & tears a harsh path down the palate & into the gullet. Yee-haw. Earthy, dirty coffee cuddles with bourbon that numbs the top of my delicate mouth. Deep, all-encompassing sweetness sweeps the leg & runs straight through the finish (vanilla…perhaps). Thick. Seems the 500 was meant for sharing, this is heavy & will (ultimately) be debilitating.
Really, take any pastry stout & dump in a shot of Everclear & voila! Double Sunset. I have another in the series with different coffee & am assuming that one’s going to drink in the same manner. That’s why I have a wife to split these things with! Pretty good brew.
