Our Illa stouts are blended from 19 and 16 month bourbon barrels. This version was then dosed with 2 pounds per barrel of whole Madagascar Planifolia vanilla beans, which provides a smooth, traditional vanilla flavor that is sweet, creamy, and rich.

Pours very dark and thick, zero head with aggressive pour. Aroma is overwhelmingly sweet vanilla, marshmallow. I struggle to get any other scents. Wow. Flavor starts with chocolate, I get some cherry cordial, rich fudge, great barrel presence, and a very smooth and lingering vanilla finish. Minimal carbonation adds to a creamy texture. Overall a real vanilla bomb and totally delicious.
