The beer pours a light dark tan and creamy looking head that dissipates fairly quickly. The beer itself is a has a nice thick looking texture.
The smell is very good. It has a sweet milk chocolate note that comes upfront with a vanilla in the finish. It is followed by the smooth bourbon smell that ends with a smoother alcohol note.
The taste is absolutely delicious. It has a heavy sweet chocolate note like the smell but comes in alongside with the bourbon note instead of before it. The bourbon is delicious and has a bit of a caramel and honey flavor to it. There is a slight alcohol note in the finish.
The feel is really good. It has a heavy body with very little carbonation to it. The texture is really smooth and feels like chocolate syrup. It has a slightly sticky and dry finish.
Overall, this is an absolutely delightful beer. The various notes all work together and the beer just feels right. This is a must have if you live near one of the Dominion Wine and Beer stores in the DC metro area.
