Picked up a 500 ml bottle from the Burial South Slope location 12-7-22 for $28.00. Drink within 6 months but cold stored since purchase. Consumed 8-13-23.
Beer poured black with virtually no head.
Nose is wonderful, full of cinnamon and chocolate over a light roasted malt base.
Taste is near perfection as the very large malt base takes on a medley of adjucts that are expertly parlayed. Getting an equal dose of chocolate, coffee, and cinnamon up front with a touch of nuts and finishes with a nice bourbon heat and an appropriate touch of sweetness.
Mouthfeel is medium to large bodied and silky smooth.
Overall, among the best of dessert beers i have had over the years!

Bottle. Tan head that fades. Oily black color.
Cinnamon and coffee up front, coconut, vanilla, bourbon dipped fudge. All the other adjuncts blend in. Nothing overpowering, all dessert like, but balanced. This is way too easy to drink for 14.5%. Great flavors, not overwhelmingly pastry sweet. I really like this one.

Decapitated! Completely headless, just a fizzless, very dark body. Aroma: yes, there’s alcohol here, bourbon, caramel, roasted grains, vanilla & cinnamon. Very rich & sweet, the perfect dessert. Taste: absolutely delicious! Lots of intense flavors: bourbon, vanilla, cinnamon, macarons, nuts, coconut & a good hit of strong coffee. Feel: flat, thick, just short of syrupy. The 14.5 doesn’t interact much with the tongue, but its velvety smoothness rates a good score. Despite its lack of carbonation it’s one of my favorites.

Velvet Magnum VI - Barrel Aged pours a black color with no head. The aroma is filled with vanilla. The flavor is mostly vanilla and bourbon, with a hint of nuts. Good body and feel. Overall, big sweet, flavorful stout with lots of desert-like flavors.
