Standard haze. Fresh, juicy, mostly citrus aroma. Intense citrus and tropical flavors with a touch of peach and diesel. Terpenes and thiols boosting intensity, but only slightly discernable. Creamy texture helps mask high alcohol. One of the smoother, easy-drinking TIPAs out there.

There’s some reason I enjoy IPAs more than just about any other style. It may be the combination of the bright zesty citrus and the dank piney resin that a good IPA can mix so well. This one has all of that, plus a mild malt base and a subtle booze profile. Very cloudy orange color, light head and lacing, and all the characteristics of a great IPA. More of an NEIPA to me, and better than it’s rated.

poured from a 16oz can into a narrow gauge stemless wine glass. pours a hazy orange with almost two fingers of white foam head. berries, citrus and peach on the nose. little bit of alcohol to it. taste mostly follows although it’s somewhat subdued and shows some more bitterness and alcohol than the nose does. still really tasty and has a full, creamy mouthfeel. super solid NE TIPA.

Pours cloudy gold color with a solid 2 finger thick whipped, frothy white head that stuck around for a long time and then dissipated very slowly, leaving excellent lacing. Wow, the aroma is so pungent that I can spell this brew from a foot away; grapefruit and tangerine dominate the nose, but the additions of lime, papaya, honeydew melon, grape juice, yeast, orange peel, coriander and caramel made for a really simple but impressive smell. Tastes like wet hops and a ton of dry hops were used to make this; it’s super dank and packed with citrus and tropical fruits, almost to the point of being overwhelmingly citrusy, but the malt backbone adds enough sweetness to round it out and give it a sense of balance. The citrus sweetness completely masks the ABV, but this thick, chewy TIPA still manages to go down much easier than it should. Good stuff!

Canned on 4/15/2024. Poured into a snulip glass. It pours a dense, pastel orange with almost a finger of fluffy, bright white head and very heavy lacing. Classic New Zealand hop aroma of lemon, lime, and white wine, along with sweeter tropical fruit. Wow, this is great! A superb balance of tart lemon, lime, and grapefruit, against oaty sweetness and pineapple. The Nelson hops are clearly present but the dry, white wine notes are quite delicate. There is mild, clean bitterness throughout. As expected from Other Half, the mouth feel is killer: thick and creamy, with perfect carbonation, and it sure doesn't drink like 10% ABV. I have to say that I'm shocked by the previous ratings. Shroomies is the best New Zealand TIPA I've had.
