A bourbon barrel aged imperial stout conditioned with delicious vanilla and pistachios. All is well until they try to knife you at the end.

Warming up - a lot of sweetness with some old fashioned bitterness, hops? as an offset
Thick but sweet.Smell: out on a hike smell.
Warmed up somewhat - chocolate with some bitterness followed by a rush of sweetness.
background nuttiness and vanilla not forward but helping creaminess, both good things.

Pours a very dark, inky black with a red wine/plum hue. Only with agitation does the slightest mocha crown appear; otherwise there’s no head whatsoever. Lovely color, but huge demerits in the looks department otherwise.
Dark chocolate, brownies and vanilla show first in the nose when cold. Maybe a touch of umami and dark fruit, but they’re distant. A whiff of alcohol, too.
Sweet tasting: chocolate, vanilla, cherry cordial, nougat, toffee, port wine. Some slight roasted malt and bitter chocolate character behind. It’s very tasty.
Full, chewy feel. Borderline sticky. There’s a hint of carbonation struggling to cut through.
Nice depth of flavor here. Very sweet, but otherwise delicious.
