From the 16.9 oz bottle in a snifter (for the Little Lady's Birthday and the
last one on the shelf). This monster pours a murky brownish black with a
light head of tan foam that settles to a thin ring, no lacing, but nice legs
with a swirl. Nose of dark chocolate, light coffee, moderate char, vanilla,
cream, brulee, and dark fruits dashed with bourbon and oak. Flavors
hit the mark with mellow bourbon, oak, vanilla, moderate char, dark raisin
bread, dark berry notes of blackberry and blueberry, dark coffee, and dark
bakers chocolate. Mouth feel is full, smooth, rich, coating, warming,
light carbonation, and a nice bitter malt finish.
Overall, a FANTASTIC brew from a great little brewery!
Cheers

16.9 ounce bottle, no dating I could find on the bottle or label. Served in a chalice, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like dark fruit, vanilla, dark chocolate, roasted malt and caramel. For the most part I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some brown sugar, dark bready, oak and bourbon flavors. It's sweeter tasting as it warms but it's not overpoweringly sweet by any means. Mouthfeel/body is full, it's slick and a little syrupy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this brew a lot, wish I would have bought another bottle when I had the chance!
