750 ml bottle from November, 2020. Drank out of a Trillium fluted wine glass on October 3, 2021.
Look - gurgled out of classic thin stemmed Bissell bottle in a dark garnet stream that left an off white half inch of head, some of which remained around the edge of the glass for a while.
Smell - Had a nice light, almost watery aroma but not in a bad way, Flemish red smell. Not an in your face way, just a more delicate saisony bouquet but in that Flemish red manner.
Taste - Followed the nose. I've had some in your face Flemish Reds which I love, but this was not that. It was highly drinkable and approachable, very true to the style. Probably one of the best of the style I've had.
Feel - Average feel. If it was a tad bit thicker, I might have rated it higher, but I can't go whole hog on everything, and a thicker mouthfeel might have in retrospect taken away from it. So I just changed it from a 4.25 to a 4.5....
IMO, this was a perfect example of how Bissell's sour program is killing it. I got three of these thinking I might trade one or two, but have found that not a lot of people are interested in them. Fine. I'm hoarding them. And from now on, I'm getting three for myself. I probably shouldn't say it too loudly, but then again, this is BA so you guys are my brothers, these guys' Milo sour program is a hidden gem. Can't speak more highly of it. Cheers!
