Pours semi-viscous, inky black body capped with a cascading, mocha-hued foam, peaking and settling expeditiously to a finger of cap, slim, creamy collar, and minimal-no lacing holding to the walls of the glass.
Aroma wafts dark chocolate into modest roast upfront, with oaky bourbon inflections phasing through caramel undertones and leaving vague vanilla undertones to seep through as the bouquet evolves.
Taste brings predominant notes of charry oak and roasted malts to open, expanding with fresh cacao over the mid-palate while caramel trails into gooey marshmallow on the back end of the profile.
Mouthfeel offers a medium-full body and minimal carbonation; creamy textures steadily cede to a background roast across the palate, leaving a gently drying warmth and a light barrel prickle on the finish.
Lighter barrel yields a more pronounced focus on a cleanly adjuncted base porter, opting for a milder overall approach while remaining well-attenuated in all facets.
