Follow-up Review 12-29-15
Nice head on this bottle's pour (still no bottling or best-by date). Less smell or taste presence compared with my initial review, yet still tasty enough.
Well, an improvement in one area yet declines in two other (more critical, in my opinion). So it goes. Decent yet uninspiring.

Initial review posted 03-11-14 with ratings of 2.5 3.75 3.75 and 3.75 (overall)
No bottling or best by date on the bottle.
Deep copper-orange body with absolutely no head. Full blast of caramel and toffee scents. Flavor strongly reflects the aroma; sweet; subtle hop bitterness. Medium body; chewy and smooth.
Other than the complete lack of any head or lacing, this is one decent Oktoberfest beer. Full bodied with a strong malt presence.

Poured a orangey/red with 1/2" of off-white head. Effervescent throughout, below average head retention & lacing
S: Toasty malt & some caramel
T: Toasty malt & caramel up front. A little grainyness more rich caramel as this warms. Finishes a little biscuitty, with caramel sweetness & more toasty malt yummyness
MF: Medium bodied with great balance & pretty good carbonation
Drank very easy, a more malty (which is okay by me!) type of marzen than some German examples. This is probably the 2nd best beer from this brewery (Behind the Bourbon Strike Stout)
