A light malt bill allows the hops to shine in the Single Hop Extra Pale Ale. 100% hopped with Vic Secret, a new hop variety from down under, Spring Loaded is packed with aroma and flavors reminiscent of pineapple, pine, and passion fruit.

Pours a hazy, golden straw with a finger and a half of dense, white foam. Head retention is good. Aroma is bready, wafery, biscuity malts up front with a little herbal, floral and citrus hops behind. Flavor profile is driven by a dry, bitter tone. Malts are wafery, biscuity, bready and earthy with dry citrus, herbal and resiny hops. Mouth feel carries a light crispness that bites on the back of the tongue. It has a medium thickness. Overall, dry and crisp with bitterness echoing throughout.

Served in a 15.5oz Spiegalau tulip from a 12oz can.

Hazy golden color with minimal head. Lots of sweet fruit on the nose (honeydew melon, maybe) with just a hint of bitter herb like oregano or something. Pronounced hops with a little tang on the finish that really engages the sides of your tongue. Ideal recovery drink after a round or two of disc golf on a hot July day.

Nice golden amber colored body; head is very thin with some lacing along the glass. Warm bread and pine aroma infused with a suggestion of pear. The taste parallels the smell in many ways, perhaps with more toasted grain flavor and a low-key hop bitterness. Medium body; warm and silky.

Not a bad extra pale ale at all. Nice malt flavors with a fine touch of fruity esters to add some interest to things.
