this is pretty good stuff, a blonde ale with boysenberries. i think their rebranded cans look awesome, and the new beers are a lot better than most of the old ones, so good for rockyard! this one is purple stained from the fruit, smells just faintly tart and astringent and medicinal like a raw elderberry or something but with a blackberry sort of sweetness along with it, the fruit is robust and really the only thing i can smell or taste, not all that beery, but natural enough and quite summery and appealing in the right context. it has a melted popsicle sort of vibe to it, some tartness from the berries, and a surprisingly dry finish for how fruity this is as i drink it. good carbonation, light body. more juice than beer in some ways, very little grain to this and almost no hops or yeast at all in the flavor, but its refreshing when its cold and has a cool flavor unique to the boysenberries, and i think they have done a pretty good job crafting a fruit beer with wide appeal for the summer. we rarely see boysenberries used in this sort of thing, i think its cool.
