Poured into a Trillium glass a nice pale orangy color, nice carbonation, with a quick/fizzy white head, which leaves some minimal sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, yeasty, wheaty/grassy, with some coriander, orange, tart. The taste is pretty nice, malty, yeasty, wheaty/grassy, coriander, orange, slight tart. Medium body, ABV is hidden nicely. Overall, a tasty brew.

all of the new look rockyard beers are tasting pretty good. this one is a wit base loaded with blood orange. i think as a wit its pretty solid, minimal in some ways, restrained on the yeast for sure, not overly belgian at all, but nicely built from a grain standpoint with a bunch of flavorful and rich feeling wheat and even some oats, fluffy and sturdy, but still light, just giving a bit more body and character to the base here than many of them have. the orange smells and tastes natural to me, a little bitterness from the peel sort of vibe is nice, but there is a lot of sweetness and juiciness from it too, almost an essence of the orange or something, a little tang like juice too, it gives it a real morning beer vibe. i get trace vanilla and creaminess here too, cool with the yeast and i think the orange is dosed just right, high in the flavor but the beer still has some balance because of the grain base. well carbonated, it could be drier and be even more refreshing, but this is pretty good stuff. glad to see these guys put out some good ones lately!
