Pours a clear, dark brown/maroon, with very little head and no lacing.
Scent is very light, if anything at all. Malty is on the way with some yeast- slight hint of something belgian. That's about it.
Taste is a step up from the first two- sweet, malty, a bit roasty, yeasty, spice/clove. Nice but a bit too sweet.
A little undercarbonated, syrupy. Too sweet. A bit unbalanced toward the sweet side, although the alcohol is there. Overall I like it but not quite what I would like for the style.

Served on-draught into a 25cl snifter at Rockyard Brewing in Castle Rock. Reviewed from notes.
A: Pours a half finger head of fair cream and thickness, and bad retention. Dark maroon-purple. Nontransparent. Intriguing.
Sm: Juniper berries, grapes, caramelized malt, and lovely esters. Very pleasant and inviting. A moderate strength aroma.
T: Quite estery, with a bit of thick overdone grape in the mix. Structurally imbalanced, with most of the flavour towards the second half. The juniper is nice. A caramelized malt foundation lies hidden underneath the berry esters. It's balanced alright, and built nicely. No alcohol comes through.
Mf: Smooth and wet, but entirely too thick. Suits the flavours in a general sense.
Dr: Very drinkable for the ABV, but largely unremarkable due to its balance issues.

Served on tap at rockyard in an 8 oz snifter, reviewed live:
A - presents a non transparent dark maroon color, with a thin half finger head. Retention is bad but excusable considering the high abv.
S - toasted malts, cream, dark fruit, and a slight nose of ethanol. Reserved, but appealing.
T - toasted malt and cream form the foundation. Dark tart fruit notes are strong, but not overbearing. It finishes with a spicy alcohol bite that rounds the beer out nicely.
M - medium bodied, smooth and wet. Could use more body.
D - the flavors could be more more bold and distinct, but I like this beer a lot. Built well and highly drinkable.
