Brownish amber color in the chalice. Some coarse head and rather lacking in the mouthfeel. Flavor of oxidized red wine. Buttery and bitter. Flat in the mouth after half a glass.
Trends toward bitter dishwater with a dose of sweet vermouth. Some washed-out raisins and Diet Dr. Pepper. I think the yeast had some help on this one. It's an Old Ale, all right, but very decrepit and smelling of Olde Dog.
A beer from Rockyard's Home Brewers Gone Wild program. I say, make them drink this stuff. As an archaeological point of interest, the stick-on label peeled off nicely revealing a SECOND label in the Home Brewers series: Rock Weisser, brewed with "Foam on the Range" club, a Berlinerweiss. Cost $7.29 for the 22 oz bottle from Grapevine Liquors in Denver.
